We’re so excited to announce that our own General Counsel, Todd Higey, will be speaking at this years annual Gulf Coast Symposium on HR Issues in Houston, Texas May 10-12. The event, one of the largest and most reputable HR events for the Gulf Coast, will host Higey as he presents his session entitled, “Crafting an Effective, Legal Background Screening Program” on May 10th. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, ESS will also, once again, be exhibiting a booth at the symposium as well.
“We are excited to continue to be involved in the HR Houston Symposium this year as it is important for our industry partners and customers to know how much ESS values compliance and education,” says Brandt LaPish, ESS VP of Marketing. “We hope to encourage others to sign up for this event to help bring awareness to the importance of providing a safe work environment for all employees across all industries.”
Higey’s session will focus on crafting and implementing an effective, legal background screening program. The goal is to explain and identify the inner workings of background screening and discover the ways in which information about job applicants is gathered, assembled and reported. In addition, attendees will learn about the intersection between employment laws and background checks and the key components of a successful screening policy.
